We started from scratch in 2015, and have a long road ahead in continuously improving what we can offer our team. But we think there is already a lot to like. Here is an overview.
⚛️ A collective, entrepreneurial project at the core
It might sound strange to mention a collective dimension on a page about individual growth. But hear us out.
Agilytic remains an entrepreneurial project. You will enjoy it the most if you keep in mind that we still need to build a lot. That means we continuously have to balance individual needs with the advancement of the project. We encourage our team to “treat Agilytic like it is all yours.”
All of us are convinced that there is a tremendous amount of fulfillment to gain from contributing to such a project (not to mention tangible rewards!). But it’s a conviction you should share.
🛫 It starts with your onboarding
For starters, we’ll prepare a “welcome pack” with a few highly recommended books that served us well on various topics such as data storytelling, methodologies, etc. We highly suggest you read them.
👥 Mentoring system
Every Data Scientist is assigned a “mentor”: a senior team member that is responsible for discussing with you regularly and clarifying with you what individual growth means.
They will be there to provide you guidance and constructive feedback. But don’t forget: you are in the driver’s seat.
🛣 Career path
We want to make sure you don’t just “work” at Agilytic, but that you also learn and progress in the career path you aspire to create.
We will work on a shared vision for your individual evolution with your buddy and the senior team. It’s in the form of a shared roadmap, complete with milestones and OKRs to define success.
Starting by defining a 3-5 year plan based on your career aspirations, we retroactively design an actionable path. It will serve as the backbone of your evolution.
⚛️ Our two knowledge centres
Our Academy builds on our collective experiences, and summarizes them in thematic trainings on hard and soft skills, adapted to all seniority levels.
When we’re trying new things, we structure our Research and Development in the Lab, where our creativity is channelled through academic-grade discipline.
🏋️ Individual training
Individual training needs are at the confluence of multiple things:
- What you want
- What you think you need (not the same thing as what you want)
- What we think you need
- What clients need
- What long-term market trends indicate
Once we have identified the trainings that make the most sense (tech skills, business skills around project management, consulting, and growth, or soft skills) we will decide the best format depending on the topic and your time constraints. These trainings can be:
- In person (1:1 or collective)
- Virtual classrooms
- Made through the Agilytic Academy or third-party certifications
When a training leads to an exam/certification, we cover certification fees. It goes without saying - we expect you to train diligently for the exam.
🏟 Collective challenges
We regularly organize collective challenges where we, as a team, tackle technical challenges (e.g., NLP in the cloud…).
It’s an excellent opportunity to learn with your peers.
🌉 Bridges with academia
We have strong links with academia, where many of us are still active in various capacities. When appropriate, we can build bridges for collaborations, e.g., for R&D projects in the Agilytic Lab.
