Overall Interview Process & What to Expect
Each interview track follows a similar structure, though you'll find the most relevant prep information within the gallery below ππΌ
π Initial Interview (30 min)
An interview with a member of our Talent team to get to know you. We want to learn about the highlights of your experience and what you're looking for in your next role, and to tell you about what we're working on at Notion now and in the future.
π§βπ»Β Technical Assessment (60 min)
We'll pair you with a Notion engineer for a language-agnostic coding exercise
π Β Virtual Onsite Interviews (3 hours)
- Coding interview, similar in format to the technical screen (60 mins)
- A technical interview to design a piece of software or system to a rough spec (60 mins)
- A career history interview to understand your experience more in-depth, your biggest achievements, challenges, and how you worked with others on teams (60 mins)
πΒ Final Interview(s) (30 min)
An interview where you'll discuss your past experience, values and motivations with a member of our leadership team. This is also a great opportunity to learn more about how we're thinking about growth for the product and company.

As a final step in the process, we will also conduct reference checks. All offers are contingent on a background check, which includes employment verification.
