Doctorate in Physics: data analysis of gravitational waves 2021-2025
- Development of a Python-based data analysis framework exploiting cross-correlation which combined statistical methods using both a frequentist and Bayesian approach for parameter estimation
- The parallelization of this analysis framework on a high-throughput computing cluster
- Inventing and development of new Bayesian-based statistical data analysis method combining multiple different gravitational-wave data sources to infer whether the mass distribution of these sources is constant or not. This process was optimized using GPU’s on a computing cluster.
- Monitoring and mitigating noise features in a gravitational-wave detector via a database of such features. The unknown noise features were searched for using a coherence method in the surrounding environmental channels.
- Participated in multiple science-communication events to explain research topics to non-experts:
- PRESS>SPEAK
- Einstein Telescope @ Nerdland
- Dag van de Wetenschap in Antwerp
Python (scipy, numpy, pandas, matplotlib)
HTCondor (DAG files, somewhat similar to Apache Spark) via Python
